Brockhampton spoke to NME on the red carpet of the BRIT Awards 2019 about their perfect London night out, progress on their new album and some general life advice. Watch our video interview with the band above.
Off the back of their acclaimed 2018 album ‘Iridescence‘, Brockhampton found themselves in town for the BRITs – where they were nominated for Best International Group against the likes of 21 Pilots, First Aid Kit and Nile Rodgers & Chic.
Asked about their ideal night out in London, they told us that they’d typically spend it in Abbey Road studios recording or “playing soccer in their own jerseys”. However, tonight’s afterparty may change that. “We’re always eating good food and getting the nutrition we need to be healthy, happy and strong,” they said.
The band remained fairly tight-lipped about progress on their next album. aside from declaring that “it’s not going to be what anyone expects”. There was however, more sage advice about living in the present rather than dwelling too much on the future.
“Today is the only day we have. You know, this moment. It’s you and I, this microphone, all of Brockhampton, it’s all the people celebrating, and that’s all that we know.”
