The Texan artist teased new material in a video last week, with phrases such as “Teach me Empathy”, and “Teach me how to feel” displayed over footage of the musician. Abstract has previously released two solo records – 2014’s ‘MTV1987’ and 2016’s ‘American Boyfriend: A Suburban Love Story’.
A new track has now been released via YouTube, though it is not available to stream on Spotify at the time of publishing. Although the video for the sub-two-minute song is titled ‘THE 1-9-9-9 IS COMING’, it has been reported that it is listed on Shazam as ‘Big Wheels’.
The accompanying visuals see a CGI cut-out of Abstract’s face being held in the rapper’s hand in front of a cloudy sky. Later, we see him rotate amongst orange and red flame-like graphics. The words “ARIZONA baby” are displayed as a closing message, as seen in the previous teaser.
Last month, Kevin Abstract posted an image on his Twitter page that looked like an album cover – sparking speculation that his new LP was imminent.
Meanwhile, Brockhampton were recently nominated for Best International Group at the 2019 BRIT Awards. Speaking to NME on the red carpet, they refused to say much about their next album but said it was “not going to be what anyone expects.”
Brockhampton will perform at this year’s Lovebox Festival in London, joining the likes of Solange and Chance The Rapper in Gunnersbury Park.
