Brody Dalle has said that touring with her husband Josh Homme is “awesome”.
Dalle, who will release debut solo album ‘Diploid Love’ in April, will tour with Queens of the Stone Age and Nine Inch Nails in Australia later this month (March). Speaking to NME on the red carpet at last week’s NME Awards 2014 with Austin, Texas, Dalle discussed life on the road with her husband as well as her decision to start playing songs by her old band The Distillers again.
Describing life on the road with Homme as “awesome”, Dalle said: “We’ve done it before, we’re taking our kids. It’s super, extra fun.” Asked about her decision to start playing Distillers songs in her live set, Dalle replied: “I wrote them. They’re my songs. I have a really large catalogue and I have a lot to pick from. I also didn’t want to give, like, all my new songs away.”
‘Diploid Love’ will be released on April 28. The album was produced by Dalle and Alain Johannes (Arctic Monkeys, Them Crooked Vultures, Mark Lanegan) at his Los Angeles studio, as well as at Dalle and her husband Josh Homme’s Pink Duck studio.
The record features guest appearances from Garbage‘s Shirley Manson, The Strokes‘ Nick Valensi, Michael Shuman of Queens of the Stone Age and Emily Kokal of Warpaint amongst others. Dalle trailed the release of the album with the song ‘Meet The Foetus/ Oh The Joy’, which you can listen to by clicking here.
