Brody Dalle announces release of solo album ‘Diploid Love’

The former Distillers frontwoman releases the LP on April 28

Brody Dalle is set to release her solo album ‘Diploid Love’ on April 28.

The album is Dalle’s first under her own name, following her 2009 album under the Spinnerette name and three albums as the frontwoman of punk band The Distillers, 2000’s ‘The Distillers’, ‘Sing Sing Death House’ in 2002, and ‘Coral Fang’ in 2003.

‘Diploid Love’ was produced by Dalle and Alain Johannes (Arctic Monkeys, Them Crooked Vultures, Mark Lanegan) at his Los Angeles studio, as well as at Dalle and her husband Josh Homme’s Pink Duck studio. Of co-producing, Dalle comments: “I’ve always had a hand in crafting how it’s going to sound and hearing it and trying to make that happen. But it’s the first time I’ve put my name on something for production.”

The record features guest appearances from Garbage‘s Shirley Manson, The Strokes‘ Nick Valensi, Michael Shuman of Queens of the Stone Age and Emily Kokal of Warpaint amongst others. Dalle trailed the release of the album with the song ‘Meet The Foetus/ Oh The Joy’, which you can listen to by clicking here.

Brody Dalle will play a special NME Awards 2014 with Austin, Texas show on February 24 at London’s Hoxton Bar & Kitchen, before returning for a short UK tour around the release of the record. Scroll down for full dates.
