Bruce Springsteen wins Golden Globe for ‘The Wrestler’

The Boss picks up a gong at the Los Angeles ceremony

Bruce Springsteen won a Golden Globe award last night (January 12) in the best original song category for his track ‘The Wrestler’ – the theme song to the Mickey Rourke-starring film of the same name.

Rourke, meanwhile, won the best actor award for his starring turn in the film.

The awards reward those in the TV and film industry. Other winners at the ceremony in Los Angeles included Kate Winslet (best actress and best supporting actress), ‘Slumdog Millionnaire’ (best film drama) and the late Heath Ledger (best supporting actor).

The full list of winners can be seen at Goldenglobe.org now.

The award was given to Springsteen just days after ‘The Wrestler’ song won him a Critics’ Choice Award in Santa Monica.
