Bruce Springsteen was used as an unlikely excuse by a US school kids’ Dad for their lateness to school.
Patrick.A Pipino took his daughters to watch The Boss play on Monday night’s (February 8) gig at Albany’s Times Union Center, with both girls aged 12 and 7 respectively.
When they were late for school, the girls’ father used the previous night’s concert as a reason for their lateness to school.
According to Consequence of Sound, in a letter posted to his Facebook page, Pipino told the school what had happened the night before “Last night Isabelle was lucky enough to see Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band in Albany,” he wrote, “and darned if he didn’t play for three and a half hours.”
Pipino went on to explain his reasoning for disrupting the girls’ timetable: “This may not seem like a good excuse, but have you ever wondered how many kids would be late – or miss school outright – if God were to suddenly appear? It’s something like that.”

Last week, Springsteen was seen inviting an older member of the crowd on stage at the Toronto leg of the star’s current tour.
The ‘Born in The USA’ musician is currently undergoing a world tour with his E Street Band and spotted the 89-year-old grandmother Evelyn enjoying the gig at the city’s Air Canada Centre venue. The Boss invited her on stage to dance during the band’s encore performance of ‘Dancing in the Dark’.

The show was part of The River Tour, which will see Springsteen touring North America until March, finishing up with two shows in Los Angeles between March 15-17.
‘The River’ was fifth studio LP and was released in 1980. It was reissued last year as ‘The Ties That Bind: The River Collection’, a bumper edition of the record that features the original album plus unreleased music, unseen concert footage and a new documentary.
The double-album gave Springsteen his first US Number One Record on its original release and resulted in an extensive touring period. The third disc presents Springsteen’s show with the E Street Band from Tempe, Arizona on the 1980 River Tour, including over two and a half hours worth of footage and 24 songs.
‘The Ties That Bind: The River Collection’ is packaged in a 10-inch by 12-inch box with a hardcover 148-page coffee table book that contains 200 studio and live photographs.
In 2010 Springsteen provided a similar box-set treatment for ‘Darkness On The Edge Of Town.’
