Bruce Springsteen working on ‘solo project’ without his E Street Band

Springsteen last released an album in 2014 with 'High Hopes'

Bruce Springsteen has announced that he’s working on a new album, what he describes as “more of a solo project” than his recent releases.

Springsteen released his latest album ‘High Hopes’ in 2014. Like most of his output, it featured regular backing band the E Street Band. His last release without the band came in 2005 with ‘Devils & Dust’.

He confirmed the news in a recent interview with SiriusXM’s E Street Radio. Listen in full below.

Springsteen has also unveiled plans to mark his 1980 album ‘The River’ during his upcoming 2016 tour.

The live stint has been announced in support in support of Springsteen’s new reissue of the album, which was his fifth studio LP to be released. The double-album gave Springsteen his first US Number One Record.

The River Tour will see Springsteen touring North America from January to March, kicking things off in Pittsburgh on January 16 and finishing up with two shows in Los Angeles from March 15-17.
