Bruce Springsteen joined by Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder for AC/DC cover – watch

Pair played 'Highway To Hell' as well as 'Darkness On The Edge Of Town' in Melbourne

Bruce Springsteen was joined on stage by Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder over the weekend to cover AC/DC‘s ‘Highway To Hell’.

Springsteen and the E Street Band were performing at AAMI Park in Melbourne, Australia on Saturday (February 15) and opened their set with the cover, accompanied by Rage Against The Machine’s Tom Morello, in addition to the Pearl Jam frontman. Vedder also performed ‘Darkness On The Edge of Town’, the second song of the set, with the band. Click above to see fan-shot footage of the performance of the AC/DC classic.

Bruce Springsteen had previously opened his set at the Perth Arena in Australia with a cover of AC/DC’s 1979 hit ‘Highway To Hell’ on February 6. That cover of the Australian rock band’s classic track saw four guitarists on stage: Springsteen, Nils Lofgren, Steven Van Zandt and Tom Morello. The late AC/DC singer Bon Scott grew up near Perth. ‘Highway To Hell’ was the final album he recorded with the band before his death in 1980.

Morello features prominently on Springsteen’s new album ‘High Hopes’, which recently became Springsteen’s 10th UK Number One Album. The Boss’ latest record now puts him ahead of acts such as David Bowie, ABBA, Queen and Michael Jackson, who have all had nine UK Number One albums, but puts him level with U2, The Rolling Stones and Robbie Williams.
