Pharrell Williams and Bruce Springsteen on course for Official UK Chart success

Solo singers top Official Albums and Singles Chart at today's midweek stage (January 15)

Pharrell Williams is set for a second week at the top of the Official Singles Chart this weekend with his track ‘Happy’.

Official Chart Company data reveals that ‘Happy’ looks set to stay at Number One ahead of Pitbull and Ke$ha’s song ‘Timber’. The final chart will be revealed on BBC Radio 1 this Sunday (January 19). Official Charts Company data shows that the song is nearing half a million sales, with 496,000 copies shifted in the UK since its release in 2013.

There are three new entries on this week’s Official Singles Chart Update with Elyar Fox’s ‘Do It All Over Again’ the highest new entry at Number Four today. Meanwhile, Shakira and Rihanna are new in at Number 12 today with ‘Can’t Remember To Forget’ while Beyonce’s ‘XO’ is up six to 39.

Elsewhere, in the Official Albums Chart Bruce Springsteen‘s new album ‘High Hopes’ is battling Ellie Goulding’s ‘Halcyon’ for the top spot. The Boss is currently ahead of Goulding’s hugely successful album ‘Halcyon’ at today’s midweek stage.

There is only one new entry in the Albums Chart, with James Vincent McMorrow new at 15.
