The rising star tells NME.COM Marshall Mathers has made white boy rap respectable again after the Vanilla Ice debacle...

Bubba Sparxxx has told NME.COM Eminem‘s move into the mainstream helped him become a respected rapper.

Speaking in this week’s NME, the rising star said before Eminem, white rappers weren’t considered cool.

He commented: “(Eminem) restored my credibility. Because before him the last white MC was Vanilla Ice, and Vanilla Ice was a debacle. It was an uphill battle for us white rappers after that. And for Eminem to have broken through, he gave credibility back to the institution of white people being involved in hip-hop, period.”

Bubba Sparxxx has been taken into the rap fold by many of the eminent stars around today. His current album ‘Dark Days, Bright Nights’ was produced by Timbaland, while the single ‘Ugly’ featured a guest appearance from Missy Elliott.
