As well as Tuck and Cormier, the band also features former Rise To Remain bassist Joe Copcutt, Pitchshifter drummer Jason Bowld and Glamour Of The Kill’s Mike Kingswood in its line-up.
AxeWound have posted their first track ‘Post Acopocaltypic Party’ online and giving it away as a free download from their official website, Axewounduk.tumblr.com. You can also hear the track by scrolling down to the bottom of the page and clicking.
Speaking previously about the band, Tuck said: “It’s far more like Slipknot or Pantera. It’s metal as fuck, it’s stepping away from the melodic, not giving a fuck. Because obviously Bullet For My Valentine is a business and we have our formula, and what we do works so we won’t stray from that.”
He continued: “It’s nice to step out of that comfort zone and do something fucking ridiculous and not worry about what people are going to think, because it doesn’t exist yet. We wanted to go in there with kind of like a Slipknot attitude of just everything. Like the ‘Iowa’ album — just fucking violent. Let it all out. No holds barred.”
AxeWound are also newly confirmed to play this summer’s Download, playing a slot on the festival’s opening day (June 8) on the Third Stage.
