The star heads for Bristol...

Busta Rhymes is to headline the ‘DANCE DAY’ at this year’s ESSENTIAL FESTIVAL, NME.COM can announce.

As previously announced, the first Essential event of 2002 has been confirmed to take place at Ashton Court in Bristol over the May Day bank holiday weekend (May 4-6).

The event will be split in to three separate days, the first being ‘Dance’, then ‘Rock’ and finally ‘Roots’.

At the ‘Dance’ day (May 4), Busta Rhymes will headline a day that will see DJ appearances from Orbital, Supergrass, Paul Daley, Gilles Peterson, Andrew Weatherall and Judge Jules.

The ‘Rock’ day (May 5) features Beta Band, De La Soul, Shed Seven, Therapy? and Six By Seven, amongst others, while the ‘Roots’ day includes appearances by James Brown, Asian Dub Foundation, [a][/a], Lee Perry and Courtney Pine.
