BUSTA RHYMES, BIOHAZARD, a reformed INXS and ALISHA’S ATTIC are among the names confirmed for THE BIG FESTIVAL, scheduled for the end of July at MILTON KEYNES BOWL, NME.COM can reveal.
Organisers are also “very confident” that Bob Dylan and Tom Petty, LL Cool J, The Bloodhound Gang and Sonique will be joining the bill for the three day event, running from July 27-29. It shall run as a fundraiser for the Big Issue Foundation, Shelter and a number of homeless charities in the UK. Organisers are pitching it as the “greatest charity event since Live Aid”.
A spokesperson for the event claimed that it looks likely that the Eurthymics may also join the event.
“Dave Stewart, who has helped us a lot putting this together, is hoping he can convince Annie Lennox to play,” he said. “If she plays, Bob Dylan and Tom Petty will also play. It’s looking likely – we’re very confident.”
The spokesperson was unclear as to why Lennox’s appearance would precipitate that of Petty and Dylan.
A number of DJs, including BK, Andy Farley and the Tidy Boys have also been confirmed for the dance tent. Bigger names such as Carl Cox, Judge Jules and Pete Tong are also in the frame.
Tickets for the event are priced at #85 for the three days, with none available for individual days. Camping facilities on the Bowl’s 40-acre site will also be available.
