Charlie Simpson isn't wasting any time with Fightstar...

Former BUSTED singer CHARLIE SIMPSON wasted no time in getting his new band FIGHTSTAR on the road last night (January 14).

Just hours after confirming the split of the pop group that made him famous at a press conference in London, Simpson was onstage with his hardcore outfit at the University Of Warwick.

A band insider told NME.COM: “There were a few technical glitches, but the show went really well and they got loads and loads of good feedback.

“Obviously it was a really exhausting day after everything that happened in the daytime, and they didn’t play ‘til eleven, but everybody was really happy with the show.”

One fan posting on the band’s message board said of the show:: “I thought they were pretty good. No wait, awesome… Fightstar sound nothing like the B word and I’m sure they’re fed up of people going and expecting them to be the same. The only people that were disappointed were those that thought Fightstar were a pop band.”

With Charlie’s Busted commitments behind him, Fightstar will spend the coming months on the road, starting at Dublin Ambassador tomorrow. Their debut EP ‘They Liked You Better When You Were Dead’ is released on February 28 through Sandwich Leg Recordings.
