'Trouble' follows last month's lead single 'Mess Around'
Cage the Elephant have shared the second cut from their upcoming album, ‘Tell Me I’m Pretty’.
The new album lands on December 18 and is their fourth, following 2013’s ‘Melophobia’. The 10-track LP is produced by The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach.
Contemplative new single ‘Trouble’ follows last month’s more upbeat ‘Mess Around’. Listen to both below:
The album was recorded at Easy Eye Sound in Nashville, Tennessee, near the group’s home town of Bowling Green, Kentucky.
“With this record, we wanted to be more transparent,” said lead singer Matt Shultz in a statement. “We wanted to capture the sentiment of each song, and whatever emotional response it provoked, to be really honest to that.”
Auerbach has previously produced for Lana Del Rey and Ray LaMontagne, as well as the The Black Keys. In September he released ‘Yours, Dreamily’, his first full-length with new band The Arcs.
The group saw Auerbach teaming up with Truth and Soul Records founder Leon Michels, Black Keys touring bassist Richard Swift, Menahan Street Band member Homer Steinweiss, Amy Winehouse collaborator Nick Movshon, guitarist Kenny Vaughan, plus the members of all-female mariachi band Mariachi Flor de Toloache. ‘Yours, Dreamily’ was released on September 4 via Nonesuch Records.
