Calvin Harris denies he is on Rihanna’s new album

Scottish DJ says Rihanna knows 'what her album should sound like'

Calvin Harris has confirmed that he won’t appear on Rihanna‘s new LP.

The producer had previously teamed up with Rihanna on smash hit ‘We Found Love’ in 2011, but he won’t be starring on her upcoming release.

“No, I’m not on the Rihanna album,” Harris told The Sun. “I did a few things for it, but they don’t get back to you, there are a lot of people involved.”

“It’s OK because I’m working on my stuff and it’s going fine.”

The Scottish DJ also claimed that Rihanna has a “strong idea” of what she intends for her next record. “She listens to everything, I know that, but she’s got a strong idea and identity and an idea of what her album should sound like.”

Harris released his new album ‘Motion’ this week (November 3), following on from recent singles ‘Under Control’, ‘Summer’ and ‘Blame’.

‘Motion’ is the follow-up to the Scottish DJ’s 2012 album ’18 Months’. It features Haim, Gwen Stefani, Theo Hutchcraft of Hurts and Ellie Goulding.

Earlier this year Harris was confirmed as the highest earning DJ in the world for a second successive year having earned £39.8m in the past 12 months.

Meanwhile, Rihanna released her last album ‘Unapologetic’ in 2012. Her next record will be her eighth studio effort.
