Calvin Harris breaks chart records with nine Top 10 singles from same album

The producer's '18 Months' featured collaborations with Rihanna, Florence Welch and Dizzee Rascal

Calvin Harris has broken his own chart record by becoming the first artist to achieve nine top 10 singles from one album.

The producer and DJ hit the milestone when his track ‘Thinking About You’, featuring Ayah Marar, climbed to Number Nine on the Official Chart at the weekend (August 4).

Tweeting the news, he wrote: “Made a bit of chart history today! Thinking About You went Top 10 in UK…the first time anyone has had nine Top 10 singles from one album!”

All the tracks appears on ’18 Months’, which is the DJ and producer’s third studio album and was released in October last year. Other chart-topping tracks from the album include ‘I Need Your Love’ featuring Ellie Goulding, ‘We Found Love’ featuring Rihanna and the Florence Welch collaboration ‘Sweet Nothing’. It also featured Kelis, Dizzee Rascal, Tinie Tempah and Example.

The album has sold more than 540,000 copies in the UK since its release. It spent two weeks at Number One and has been in the top 40 Official Album Chart for 40 weeks.

Back in May, Calvin Harris revealed that his next batch of new material was a change in direction. “I’m doing more dance music that probably won’t get into the charts,” he said. “I was in the studio yesterday. I just want to make good music; this award is like drawing a line under the past two years where I’ve just been intensely fucking working to try and make singles and hit records.”
