After spending a night in the cells, the Roc-A-Fella star was bailed yesterday morning (July 30) after pleading not guilty to the charges.
He had been on his way to the set of forthcoming music-industry spoof ‘Death Of A Dynasty’ when his Range Rover was pulled over for a traffic violation. MTV reports that officers approaching the car said they saw marijuana in full view and searched the vehicle, turning up a .22-caliber handgun.
The 26-year-old, full name Cameron Giles, a male passenger were charged with criminal possession of a firearm, criminal possession of marijuana and criminal possession of a forged fire department placard (used for parking and toll privileges).
“All of us at Roc-A-Fella Records, as well as his family and fans, are fully behind him,” a record label statement read. “We believe that when the truth of what happened comes out, Cam’ron will be vindicated.”
