Canadian’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has been accused of groping a reporter at a Canadian music festival in 2000.
He responded to the allegations on Sunday (July 1) saying: “I remember that day in Creston well…I had a good day that day. I don’t remember any negative interactions that day at all.”
Trudeau was 28-years-old at the time and according to The Guardian was a teacher. The festival was raising money to support an avalanche safety campaign; Trudeau’s brother died in an avalanche in 1998.
Despite being over 18 years old, the allegations have been given new attention of late after a blogger tweeted about the allegations which appeared in an unsigned editorial in the Creston Valley Advance, a local newspaper.

The editorial claimed Trudeau apologised for his behaviour after the woman felt “blatantly disrespected.”
“I certainly believe that it happened; this reporter was of a high character in my opinion and was professional in the way she conducted herself, and there’s no question in my mind that what was alluded to, written about in that editorial, did happen.”
