During the clip, released yesterday (February 16), the pair are seen dancing in front of a brick wall, throwing wads of cash into the air, and taking flight in a red classic car. A number of dancers also throw shapes to the camera.
“Cardi, Cardiana (Cardiana) / I was home with my kid, mommiana (Mommiana) / Real bitch, I don’t be with all that drama (Nah) / Mindin’ my business, I’m unbothered (I’m unbothered, yeah),” Cardi B raps in her first verse.
The original version of ‘Thotiana’ featured on Blueface’s second mixtape, ‘Famous Cryp’, which was released last year. Nicki Minaj recently freestyled over the song and it has also been remixed by YG.
‘Thotiana Remix’ marks the second Cardi team-up this week, with the rapper’s collaboration with Bruno Mars arriving in the early hours of Friday morning (February 15). On ‘Please Me’, the two artists deliver a ’90s-inspired RnB slow jam, which is one of Cardi’s slowest offerings yet.
Meanwhile, Cardi B made history at last weekend’s Grammys, where she became the first female solo artist to bag the Best Rap Album award.
However, she faced a backlash from a selection of critics who claimed that she didn’t deserve the accolade. The rapper responded by saying she had “worked her ass off” for the award, while Lady Gaga hailed her as “brave”.
