Cardi B has revealed that her eagerly anticipated debut album is due this April.
The ‘Bodak Yellow’ superstar revealed the date for the much-delayed record while accepting an award at the iHeartRadio Awards last night (March 11). “New album in April — stay tuned motherfuckers,” she announced, neglecting to give any further specifics on titles, track-listing or a more concrete date.
Last month, Cardi B achieved a new chart feat, with five top 10 hits in the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop chart within the same week.
Cardi is first female artist and third act overall to ever achieve this feat. Her record was previously four singles, with which she tied with Beyoncé.
She now sits behind Drake, who achieved eight singles in the top ten in 2016, and ties with Kendrick Lamar, who achieved it in 2017.
Cardi recently hailed Madonna as her ‘idol’ after performing at the Queen of Pop’s Oscars party.
Posting on Instagram, the star shared a photo of herself and Madonna alongside her fiancee Offset and his fellow Migos star Quavo.
“I met my real life IDOL @madonna .I can’t even believe i performed at her event and it was the most meaningful performance ever”, she wrote.
“I grew up with my mom listening to Madonna for hours. I performed Material Girl freshman year in High school, listen to her on all my photo shoots to have super confidence and always mentioned her in my interviews.
“The best part about it is she was everything i thought she would be a Liberal Kick ass feminist bitch. I’m soo happy.”
