Libertines man promises fans new music is on the way

Carl Barat has announced the first details of his as-yet-untitled solo album.

Barat, who is reuniting The Libertines for the first time since 2004 this August, will tour the UK in support of his new solo record in October. Barat will tour with a five-piece band and will be playing a mix of old and new songs.

He is planning to release the album around the same time as the tour, and has warned fans to “expect the unexpected”. Alongside the album, Barat will release a book, a collection of memoirs, which he hopes will “tickle your curiosity”.
