The Jackals played their first gig at The Bowery District in Reading in May, combining their own material with tracks from throughout Barât’s career. The Libertines man recruited the group via Facebook after posting an advert for the position of drummer, bass player and rhythm guitarist that received over 1,000 applications. The line-up includes guitarist Billy Tessio, bassist Adam Claxton and drummer Jay Bone.

The Jackals revealed their first single, ‘Glory Days’, last week. Click below to listen. The song was produced by Joby Ford of The Bronx and will be followed by an album in 2015, released on Cooking Vinyl.

Carl Barât & The Jackals will play:

Stockton On Tees Ku Bar (November 14)
Glasgow King Tuts (15)
Stoke Sugarmill (17)
Coventry Kasbah (18)
Manchester Sound Control (19)
London 100 Club (21)
