Justin Bieber also makes cameo appearance in new video
Carly Rae Jepsen has released a new single entitled ‘I Really Like You’.
The music video for the song was filmed last month in New York City and also stars Justin Bieber. In the video Hanks is rushing to meet Jepsen and stops to take selfies with fans as he mimes to the words to the song.
Co-written by Jacob Kasher and the Cardigans’ Peter Svensson, ‘I Really Like You’ is the first singe to be taken from Jepsen’s forthcoming second album, as the singer looks to replicate the success of best-selling 2012 single ‘Call Me Maybe’.
“Lyrically, [the song] is about that time in a relationship when it’s too soon to say ‘I love you,’ but you’re well past, ‘I like you’ and you’re at the ‘I really, really like you’ stage,” Jepsen said in a press release about the new single.
Jepsen’s follow up to her debut album ‘Kiss’ is due out this summer. The singer has worked with Dev Hynes, Ariel Rechtshaid, Rostam Batmanglij, Rami Yacoub, Jack Antonoff, Tegan and Sara, and Greg Kurstin on the album.
Last month, Jepsen posted an Instagram photo of herself, Hynes and Rechtshaid working in a studio together, along with the accompanying message: “Recorded one of my fav songs today with -@devhynes and @arielrechtshaid. Could be interesting.”
