The Troubadour celebrates 50th anniversary

Carole King, James Taylor to play three nights at legendary LA venue

The Troubadour will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a three-night charity engagement featuring Carole King and James Taylor.

The singers will perform at the legendary Los Angeles venue on November 28, 29 and 30, giving two one-hour shows each night.

Proceeds from the shows will go toward charities including Natural Resources Defense Council, MusiCares, Alliance for the Wild Rockies and the Los Angeles Regional Foodbank.

King and Taylor made their stage debuts with a Troubadour performance in 1969 that is credited with helping to launch their careers.

“Carole and I bump into each other all the time. Each time we meet, it’s always the same: ‘We really ought to get together on stage again,’”said Taylor in a statement. “Well, it seems like we finally will; this Troubadour 50th Anniversary event is the perfect excuse and I can’t wait.”
