But a spokesperson for the troubed band maintains they are not splitting, despite poor sales of their new album and the cancellation of a UK tour...
A spokesperson for CAST has told NME.COM the band are taking time out to pursue “solo projects” – but remains adamant the group have not split for good.
Cast‘s future has been the subject of increasing media speculation after the band cancelled a number of live commitments including their forthcoming UK tour in support of current album ‘Beetroot’.
UK media have speculated that the group have been dropped by their label Polydor, while a report in this morning’s The Sun newspaper (August 22) claims the band have broken up after frontman John Power walked out.
A UK spokesperson for the group is still unable to confirm a split to NME.COM this morning, but did say the group are planning to spend their immediate future working on “solo projects”. He added: “At this point, the band have not confirmed a split, and remain with Polydor”.
It is currently unconfirmed if vocalist John Power is working on new material, while bassist Peter Wilkinson is rumoured to be in talks with fellow Liverpool band Echo And The Bunnymen.
