The event will be held in the city’s Chavesse Park, beginning at 4pm on December 31, and also features many local and novelty acts including Beatles tribute band The Cavern Beatles and The Mighty Wah’s Pete Wylie, plus fireworks and a light show. Cast are due to perform between 10.30-11.45pm, with a set list that will include all of their chart hits.

As previously reported by NME.COM, Cast, who hope to embark on a UK tour in the early part of next year, will also release their new album in 2001. The band have been recording it in a studio just outside Liverpool with producer John Leckie. Frontman John Power has described the record as “hop and roll.”
