CERYS MATTHEWS is to duet with jazz legend CLEO LAINE on a cover version of ‘OLD MAN RIVER’ for BBC RADIO 2 on Monday (March 4) as she progresses further along her descent into old fogeydom.

Cerys actually recorded the song live at The Stables in Milton Keynes in January – making it her very first live performance since the Catatonia split.

She will also sing ‘As Time Goes By’ with John Dankworth on the program, ‘Live From The Stables’, which goes out at 9pm.

Cerys said: “‘Old Man River’ is a particular favourite of mine, I absolutely adore it!

“I also know it’s a very big favourite of my father, so I wanted to do it for him.”
