Aled Richards is to act as a celebrity advisor to acts struggling to get off the ground...

Ex-Catatonia drummer ALED RICHARDS has landed a new job – as a consultant to struggling Welsh bands.

He has joined the new PYNCI (Promoting Youth Networks in the Cultural Industries) organisation as a celebrity adviser.

He said: “The most important thing when you are starting out is to get good advice. Good advice and good accountants are the most valuable things in the world!

“The business side of the music industry is an area that you have to get

sorted out as soon as you can. Once you make it and get a record deal it’s too late, because when that happens, things go mad.”

PYNCI is a European funded project which provides young, unemployed Welsh musicians with free access to production facilities, help with publicity and advice from industry figures.
