NME.COM can reveal that it is no longer called 'It's What's Not There That Makes What's There What It Is'. Which, frankly, is a relief, as it's a pain in the arse to type all that out every time...
CATATONIA‘s new album is titled ‘PAPER SCISSORS STONE’, NME.COM can exclusively reveal.
Frontwoman Cerys Matthews had previously said the band were considering calling the record, which is due for release later this year, ‘It’s What’s Not There That Makes What’s There What It Is’. However, that has now been changed.
Speaking previously to NME.COM about ‘Paper Scissors Stone’, Matthews said: “I think it’s stronger than the last album, a bit more avant garde!…It’s a bit less stupid. [The last album] was all over the shop stylistically, I think it’s a bit more focused. And I think it’s a bit more impassioned.”
The provisional tracklisting for the record is:
‘What It Is’
‘Stone By Stone’
‘The Mother Of Misogyny’
‘Is Everybody Here On Drugs?’
A number of the tracks, including forthcoming single ‘Stone By Stone’, were played live as part of the band’s comeback shows at the Northampton Roadmenders and Manchester Evening News Arena last month.
The band are also confirmed to appear at this year’s T In The Park Festival over the weekend of July 7-8.
