Cee Lo Green escapes jail on drugs charges after no contest plea

Singer sentenced to three years of probation and 360 hours of community service

Cee Lo Green has been sentenced to three years of probation and 360 hours of community service after pleading no contest to drugs charges.

The singer was accused of secretly slipping the drug ecstasy into the drink of his dinner date at a sushi restaurant in July 2012.

He first appeared in court last October on the charge of furnishing a controlled substance, the maximum sentence for which is four years in jail. An earlier rape charge relating to the same alleged incident was dropped due to insufficient evidence.
