Chance the Rapper confirms he’s working on an album with Kanye West

"I’m going to do a seven-track with Ye"

Chance the Rapper has confirmed that he’s working on an album with Kanye West.

The project was first touted earlier this week, after Kanye collaborator Francis & The Lights teased that the pair had teamed up.

Now, official confirmation has come from Chance himself – with the rapper explaining the project in a new interview with Complex.

But there’s more, he’s working on a project with Childish Gambino too.

“I’ve been actively working on the project with Childish. I’m going to do a seven-track with Ye”, said Chance.

He and Kanye will begin working on the project in July.

Describing his work with Donald Glover’s rap alter-ego, he said: ““We’ve got six songs that are all fire, but I think the album is going to be more than 14 songs.”

His collaboration with Kanye means that Ye remains as busy as ever – having released his own album and collaborations with Pusha T and Kid Cudi last month.

Earlier this month, Chance also brought out Gambino for a special performance in Chicago.

The free ‘Open Mike” event was held at Chicago’s Harold Washington Library Center for anyone with a high school ID in a bid to encourage youth involvement in the arts.

But while Chance’s attendance was already reason enough to attend, it got even better as Childish Gambino arrived to deliver an unannounced performance of ‘This is America’.

“My next guest needs no introduction,” Chance told the crowd.

“So let’s try it.”
