Chance The Rapper responds to rumours he’s releasing a new album this week

"I got that feeling when people do something that has a new feel to it"

Chance The Rapper has responded to rumours that he’s set to release a new album this week.

After releasing the Grammy-winning ‘Colouring Book’ in 2016, it seems that the follow up is imminent.

Speculation began after an interview was published in the Chicago Tribune, where the rapper claimed that he’ll release the record to coincide with a performance at the Special Olympics.

“I got that feeling when people do something that has a new feel to it”, he was quoted as saying. “I’m excited for everybody to get that. It’s going to come out just in time for the Special Olympics”.

Now, the star has tweeted to deny reports of new music dropping imminently. “Sorry no album this week,” he wrote. “Def been in the stu tho.”

Although Chance was reluctant to release more details on the project, we know that it’s not the joint album that he is currently working on with Kanye.

Last week, Chance admitted that Kanye was heading back to his native Windy City to record the album with him.

“Working under him, working with him on his albums is crazy, but having him tell me that he wants to produce my album and come to Chicago is like…,” Chance told local TV news show Windy City Live.

“This month, we’re working in Chicago.”

Although remaining teasingly vague, Chance also confirmed that the record is “30% complete” and will touch upon his recent engagement to girlfriend Kirsten Corley.
