Chance The Rapper debuted new song ‘Blessings’ on The Tonight Show last night and later confirmed his next mixtape will be released next week.
Backed by a choir, a sermon from gospel artist Byron Cage and vocals from fellow Chicago act Jamila Woods, Chance performed the song before host Jimmy Fallon confirmed that his latest release will be out next Friday (May 13).
Dubbed ‘Chance 3’ by fans, the mixtape will be the follow up to Surf, the 2015 mixtape he made with The Social Experiment. Breakthrough mixtape ‘Acid Rap’ was released in 2013 while a collaborative release with Lil B also came out last year.
Last month (April) Chance shared a painted image of himself wearing a baseball cap with the number three on the front, backed by a pink, starry sky, and with a parental advisory sticker.
When he posted it, Chance also wrote “Chanceraps.com. #chance3” in the description. A visit to his website only reveals the same picture and a chance to buy posters of the art. Nothing officially states that it will be the album cover yet.
Last month Chance released his video for ‘Angels’, the lead single from ‘Chance 3’, which first dropped in October 2015.
