Chance The Rapper launches ‘Angels’ video – watch

Saba-featuring video has some sharp flying animation

Chance The Rapper has taken to the sky in the semi-animated new video for last year’s track ‘Angels’.

Directed by Austin Vesely and featuring Saba Anglana – who’s both on the track and a passenger in Chance’s car during the video – the new footage features Chance playing the role of the title’s angel as he flies over his hometown of Chicago.

The track was unveiled in October 2015, ahead of Chance’s collaboration with Kanye West on ‘The Life Of Pablo’ track ‘Ultrabeam Light’, which West later rejigged to create ‘Ultrabeam Prayer‘. Chance has also performed the track without West.

Chance recently announced plans to release his new mixtape this month.

The Chicago rapper revealed the news at a show in New York in late March, according to Esquire. The forthcoming mixtape will be Chance’s first since his 2013 breakthrough ‘Acid Rap’. Both ‘Acid Rap’ and his first mixtape, 2012’s ’10 Day’ were released in the month of April.

Earlier this year, the rapper raised more than $100,000 for homeless people in Chicago.

His ‘Warmest Winter’ initiative is a joint venture with The Empowerment Plan, a Detroit-based non-profit which employs and trains homeless women to create self-heating, waterproof winter coats that transform into sleeping bags.
