Chance The Rapper: ‘Frank Ocean once serenaded a girl I was dating’

'Coloring Book' artist also recently appeared in a Nike ad for the Olympic Games

Chance The Rapper has revealed that Frank Ocean once serenaded a girl he was dating.

Ocean released his new album ‘Blonde’ over the weekend.

Explaining his romantic story, the Chicago rapper said: “I was on a date one time at the crib, and we’re sitting in the front room, maybe rolling up some weed or something. Frank Ocean was downstairs, somewhere.

“And then Frank just comes up and starts playing the piano and lightly singing in the background of our date. Obviously, that scored me a lot of points with this female.”

The Chicago rapper also described his role contributing to Kanye West’s ‘The Life Of Pablo’ album and what it was like working in the studio with West.

He told Noisey: “I would say almost 60 percent of working with Kanye – let’s say 53 percent of working with Kanye is speeches. In one room, West had racks of baby clothes. He had three different studios for producers. There was another guy there who was a magician.”

Chance recently teamed up with Nike to release a new song for the US Olympics basketball team.

The ‘Coloring Book’ artist appeared in a new Nike advert performing the song, which was released to coincide with the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Nike are the manufacturers of the US kit for the Games.

The video, shot in black and white, features Chance performing the new song – which incorporates elements of the American national anthem – against a backdrop of buildings that display huge projections of American basketball players. Watch the video for ‘Unlimited Together’ below.
