Pair announce project through social media
Chance The Rapper and Lil B have recorded a joint ‘based freestyle album’, the pair revealed via social media yesterday (July 18).
As pointed out by Pitchfork, a photograph of both rappers has been posted to Chance’s Instagram page with the caption, ‘Made an album of Lil B’. The BasedGod, meanwhile, has taken to Twitter, telling fans that he’d “just knocked out a based freestyle album with chance the rapper in chi town”. A release date and title have yet to be announced.
Chance recently worked on Donnie Trumpet & The Social Experiment’s debut album ‘Surf’. The band consists of Trumpet (Nico Segal), Chance, Peter Cottontale, Greg Landfair Jr and Nate Fox, while the LP, released in May, features guest spots from Busta Rhymes, Janelle MonĂ¡e and Erykah Badu.
Lil B was in the news last January when an electrical fire broke out in his apartment building home, spreading throughout the two-story complex in Contra Costa County, California. The ‘Ellen Degeneres’ rapper was unharmed, however, after 15-year-old resident Mateo Ysmael ran through the building to wake everyone up.
