XCX performed live cover on BBC Radio 1 today (February 10)
XCX appeared as a guest of Fearne Cotton on BBC Radio 1 earlier today (February 10) and performed the cover alongside her new single ‘Doing It’, which is released this week. The cover comes a week after Peace covered a Charli XCX song during their own live session for the station.
‘Doing It’ will feature on XCX’s new album ‘Sucker’. The album was originally scheduled to be originally scheduled for release in October last year, but was subsequently pushed back until later this month (February). Speaking about the delay at the time, XCX said that the success of her single ‘Boom Clap’ led to the release date being delayed as it was necessary to “launch the album properly”.
Speaking to NME about ‘Sucker’ earlier this year, Charli XCX said she’d be using the LP to establish herself as a solo artist, after duetting with Iggy Azalea and writing for Icona Pop. “I can write a fucking hit song,” she said. “And I’m going to write some for me now. I feel like as an artist I’ve done so many collaborations now that I think I just want to take this record for myself.”
Charli XCX is set to tour the UK this April and May. Starting in Brighton on April 24, the tour will then visit London, Glasgow, Sheffield, Oxford, Manchester and Nottingham before ending in Birmingham on May 2. Tickets for all dates go on sale at 9am on Friday (November 7).
