Charli XCX streams new track ‘Gold Coins’

New album 'Sucker' will be released in January 2015

Charli XCX has unveiled a new track from her upcoming album, with ‘Gold Coins’ now airing online.

‘Gold Coins’ will feature on the singer’s new album ‘Sucker’, which was recently delayed until January 24 next year. Tweeting about the delay, the singer stated that the success of the single ‘Boom Clap’ meant that a new date was necessary to “launch the album properly”.

Listen to ‘Gold Coins’ below. ‘Sucker’ follows 2013’s ‘True Romance’.

Speaking to NME about ‘Sucker’ earlier this year, Charli XCX said she’d be using the LP to establish herself as a solo artist, after duetting with Iggy Azalea and writing for Icona Pop. “I can write a fucking hit song,” she said. “And I’m going to write some for me now. I feel like as an artist I’ve done so many collaborations now that I think I just want to take this record for myself.”

Charli XCX also recently announced details of a UK tour for 2015. Starting in Brighton on April 24, the singer will then visit London, Glasgow, Sheffield, Oxford, Manchester and Nottingham before ending in Birmingham on May 2.
