Nile Rodgers challenges Bestival organisers to build world’s biggest disco ball

Sunday night headliner is hoping to see Isle Of Wight bash enter the Guinness Book of World Records

Bestival organisers are planning to enter the Guinness Book of World Records by implanting the world’s biggest disco ball at this year’s event.

The disco ball will be built in honour of the Sunday night headliner Nile Rodgers, who will be performing with his band Chic. Rodgers challenged organiser Rob Da Bank to come up with the record breaking disco party in a video you can see above, now.

In addition to Nile Rodgers and Chic, Studio 54 resident and Gallery founder Nicky Siano will also appear at Bestival’s Desert Island Disco on the festival’s closing date this year. Siano is best known as the man responsible for DJing at Bianca Jagger’s iconic and infamous Studio 54 birthday party.

Outkast, Beck and Foals are set to headline this year’s Bestival. The festival, which is held in the Isle Of Wight’s Robin Hill Park, will stage a tropical ‘Desert Island Disco’ fancy dress theme, following 2013’s nautical ‘HMS Bestival’ theme.

Other acts set to play Bestival 2014 include Disclosure, Major Lazer, London Grammar, Sam Smith, Wild Beasts, Clean Bandit, Caribou, Chvrches, Busta Rhymes and Laura Mvula. For more information, visit
