Childish Gambino says this next tour ‘will be his last’

Donald Glover also released two songs earlier this week under his moniker

Childish Gambino has revealed that his current ‘This Is America’ tour will be his last ever.

He kicked off his world tour at Atlanta’s Infinite Energy Arena last night (September 6).

In video footage posted on Reddit, Donald Glover told the crowd: “If you’re at this show know that it’s the last Gambino tour ever. This is not a concert. This is fucking church.”

Although it may be his last tour as Gambino, he may go under a different name in the future.

He previously hinted at a retirement of his current moniker in January when he said that the next record he puts out under that name will be his last.

Earlier this week, Glover sent two new songs to his fans who bought tickets to the tour.

The singer urged fans not to share the new tracks ‘Algorhythm’ and ‘All Night’.

“These songs are not complete”, he apparently wrote in an accompanying note. “But it is important for u to be familiar with them in order to participate, and therefore fully enjoy the experience.”

Glover also released the animated video for ‘Feels Like Summer’, last week.

The clip sees Glover walking through a neighbourhood filled with his fellow musical peers.

Among the cartoon cameos are Nicki Minaj, who gets upset when Travis Scott ruins her block castle, Azealia BanksDrakeFutureA$AP RockySolange and The Weeknd playing tug of war.

Perhaps most notably Kanye West makes an appearance, seen crying in a Make America Great Again hat before Michelle Obama offers a hug.

Last month, Gambino triumphed at the VMAs – picking up three awards including Best Direction and Best Choreography.
