Chris Brown: ‘I was exploited on ‘Good Morning America”

Singer criticises station during on-air apology

Chris Brown has apologised for smashing a studio window backstage after appearing on US TV show Good Morning America on Monday (March 21)

The singer said that he became angry because he thought chiefs at the show had “exploited” him.

Speaking on US channel B.E.T, he said: “I want to apologise to anybody who was startled in the office, or anybody who was offended.”

He added: “I’m disappointed in the way I acted, I got very emotional. And I apologise for acting like that.”

Brown then went on to say that he was unsettled as the show’s interviewer Robin Richards supposedly ignored instructions his publicist had sent to her.

“When I do interviews, we always send out a talking point sheet,” he said. “As the interview proceeded it was thrown off. I was thrown off by it. I felt like they told us this just so they could get us on the show so they can exploit me.”

He also added that he became angry during the interview, but managed to contain it until “I got backstage, I just let off steam in the back. I just wanted to release the anger that I had inside me.”

ABC network chiefs are not thought to have pressed charges against Brown.
