Chris Brown responds to allegations he assaulted woman in Las Vegas hotel

R&B artist is being investigated by local police

Chris Brown has denied claims made by a Brazilian woman that he assaulted her in a hotel on New Year’s Day.

As reported, Las Vegas police are investigating claims Brown allegedly assaulted Liziane Gutierrez after receiving a report of battery at the Palms Casino Report. They found a woman “who appeared to have minor injuries sustained as a result of a battery,” according to a statement published by NBC. The singer was in Las Vegas to perform a New Year’s Day gig at Drai’s Night Club.

Brown posted a response to the claims on Instagram, suggesting that he will take legal action against the woman. “I’m going to be hella rich after all the lawsuits I file from these crazy individuals who keep lying on my name. Happy New Year! Time for some of us to grow the fuck up,” the singer wrote.

Meanwhile, Brown’s manager Mike G, branded Gutierrez a “liar” and suggested that his client’s charity work is not covered on the same scale as negative stories. “Shame on the networks that gave this story life and this liar her 15 minutes,” the manager wrote on Instagram.

Liziane Gutierrez alleges she was punched in the face after asking Brown for a photograph. The artist’s publicist previously dismissed the allegations as “unequivocally untrue.”

Brown finished a period of six years on probation in 2015, issued after he attacked then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.

Brown’s past continues to impact on his career, with the singer banned from Australia in December due to his domestic violence convictions.

He was also dropped from a Daily Show appearance in the US, following protests from staff.
