A statue in memory of Chris Cornell will be erected in the late rocker’s hometown next month.
Described by his widow, Vicky Cornell, as a gift to “the tight-knit community that gave him his start”, the life-size bronze statue will be unveiled at Seattle’s Museum of Pop Culture on August 29.
The sculpture, made by Nick Marras, will feature the former Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman’s “signature boots, dog tag, and long locks.”
Plans for a Seattle-based statue were made last August.
Cornell died on May 18 2017 from suspected suicide.
He was found in a Detroit hotel room just hours after playing a Soundgarden concert.
