Christian AIDS forced to change name to Stay+

Manchester newcomers handed a trademark infringement notice by charity

Manchester newcomers Christian AIDS have changed their name to Stay+, after the charity Christian Aid issued a “trademark infringement notice” against them.

The hotly-tipped collective, who are featured in this week’s NME as the About To Break act, issued a press release about the name change, stating:

Christian AIDS would like to announce a change. Powerful people with $$$$$$$ took us down. And all in the NAME of CHARITY.”

A spokesperson for Stay+ confirmed to NME that the band had been issued a “trademark infringement notice” by the charity. The collective, who play their first gig in London on June 30 at The Victoria in Dalston, also uploaded a video to to reference the namechange.
