Chvrches provide Bedtime Mix for Radio 1’s Sunday night show – listen

The playlist features Aphex Twin, My Bloody Valentine and Mogwai

Iain Cook, one of electronic trio Chvrches, provided BBC Radio 1’s latest Bedtime Mix last night (November 29).

The segment has previously been curated by Tame Impala‘s Kevin Parker and The 1975‘s Matt Healy. Ahead of playing the mix, Radio 1 DJ Phil Taggart said, “This is probably as close to my personal taste as a Bedtime Mix has ever come.”

Taggart also spoke to the Chvrches musician about their headline show at London’s 10,000 capacity venue Alexandra Palace on Friday (November 27). Cook commented, “It still feels like it didn’t actually happen… It’s probably one of the best shows we’ve ever done.”

Featured in his Bedtime Mix are Jon Hopkins, Aphex Twin, My Bloody Valentine and Brian Eno. Listen and see a full tracklisting below:

Last week Chvrches announced details of their first UK live dates of 2016. The band will perform at London’s Royal Albert Hall and Glasgow’s SSE Hydro next year.

The latter will take place on April 2 and will be the band’s biggest headline performance to date. Guests on the night will be The Twilight Sad. Chvrches play Royal Albert Hall in London on March 31.

Frontwoman Lauren Mayberry also revealed last week she will go solo at some point in the future. The singer, whose band are currently touring the UK, claims she expects all three members of the band to go it alone eventually.

She told The Sunday Times: “At this point, the band is the focus. But eventually, everyone will go and do their own things.”
