Band release new album 'Every Open Eye' in September
Chvrches have announced details of an upcoming UK tour, including their biggest London headline gig to date.
The band will tour in November following the release of new album ‘Every Open Eye’, including a gig at London’s Alexandra Palace in November. Four Tet will provide support on the London date.
Prior to playing in London, Chvrches will play gigs in Brighton, Bristol, Manchester, Newcastle, Aberdeen, Dundee and Birmingham. See full details below.
Chvrches will play:
Brighton Dome (November 16)
Bristol O2 Academy (17)
Manchester Albert Hall (19)
Newcastle O2 Academy (21)
Aberdeen Music Hall (23)
Dundee Fat Sam’s (24)
Birmingham O2 Academy (25)
London Alexandra Palace (27)
‘Every Open Eye’ will be released on September 25. It is the follow-up to 2013’s ‘The Bones Of What You Believe’.
Chvrches recently aired new single ‘Leave A Trace’ ahead of the album’s release.
“You come to it with a lot of anticipation,” instrumentalist Iain Cook told NME of the upcoming second record.
He added: “It felt like for the longest time while we were on tour, we were feeling the pull to get back into the studio. It just poured out of us. Too many bands end up throwing away the thing people liked about them in the first place.”
Considering the difference between the first album and their forthcoming follow-up, singer Lauren Mayberry told NME: “The first album songs were around for a long time before the album came out. People could hear a lot of the songs on YouTube before they came to the shows.
“This [time round] will be different, so it’s going to be interesting to see whether the tracks we’re thinking about playing will connect in the way we’re imagining, whether the big live moments we’ve envisioned will turn out like that.”
