Clap Your Hands Say Yeah! to play small charity gig

The show takes place later this month

Fresh from a sold out New Year’s Eve show at Hammerstein Ballroom in New York, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah are set to perform a small charity show at the city’s Bowery Ballroom.

The January 23 performance is part of the Second Annual Rock ‘N’ Roll Benefit Concert and Auction in aid of the Willie Mae Rock Camp For Girls, a non-profit summer day camp in New York.

The camp offers girls aged eight to 18 the chance to learn how to play musical instruments, write songs and learn about different types of music.

The camp is named after Willie Mae ‘Big Mama’ Thornton, a blues and rock performer/songwriter and one of the first women to play rock ‘n’ roll.

Tickets are $50, with special VIP tickets offered at $250.
