Club NME is hitting the road – and who better to set it off with a bang than half-naked pop sensation Har Mar Superstar?...

With CLUB NME’s weekly run at Stealth in NOTTINGHAM going from strength to strength we’ve decided to give the whole country a look-in.

The result is a special tour of the UK’s universities during the notoriously messy freshers’ fortnight and Har Mar Superstar is coming along for the ride.

Har Mar Superstar has played a clutch of dates with material from his breakthrough new album ‘The Handler’, and the Club NME tour will give him a chance to take his tunes to the floor.

And to make the party go with a real bang, we’re dragging along notorious London DJ duo Queens Of Noize, plus a crack team of NME journos to inflict their musical preferences on an unsuspecting student throng.

“I’m going to have a party and try to get all the kids dancing in their gymnasiums or wherever these shows are gonna be raising havoc with my friends the Queens of Noize,” vowed Har Mar. “We’re gonna start trouble everywhere!”

Har Mar Superstar has been friends with the terrible twosome since his year as Camden’s chief ligger.

He said: “They sort of know everybody somehow, kind of in the same way I do. We met a couple of years ago the first time I went over and I think I went to their night at the Barfly. We’re sort of kindred spirits, they both like to be out the front going wild and running around, so we just ended up joining forces and making parties happen all over the city. And we’ve remained friends since then.”

But the fun doesn’t stop there. Club NME also gets permanent homes nationwide, with the best of rock’n’roll’n’pop’n’soul every week. In addition to the weekly Thursday in Nottingham, a weekly London night at Camden Palace launches on Wednesday 22 September, and a monthly in Brighton launches at The Concorde on Friday 17. There’s also a monthly Friday at Birmingham HQ starting soon. All hail the autumn of love!
