Local talent gets it off to a cracking start
The New York arm of Club NME broke new ground last night (March 1) as it made its first ever appearance in Brooklyn and it was two of the finest local talents who helped provide the night’s entertainment.
First up were forthcoming Radar section stars The Stalkers, who delivered their trashy rock ‘n’ roll with a suitable amount of swagger and showcased much of their forthcoming debut album.
Following them were fellow Brooklynites Love As Laughter who rounded off the live entertainment with an enchanting set of country-inflected rock and an abundant number of extra percussionists.
The collective encountered several problems during the set including a broken snare and a broken bass string but soldiered on to impress the crowd nonetheless. They too have a new album due out (their sixth in total) in the next few months.
